THE PROJECT WRAPS

On the eve before the project's wrap date, the Resident DJ sat alone in his trailer, thinking of the highlights of the two previous years...

"As the clock is ticking down towards the end of this incredible project of ours, I'm taken back to May of 2020, not that long after the Covid-19 pandemic broke worldwide. I had just lost my Mom unexpectedly barely two months before the project presented itself. I was still reeling from all of the harsh realities of losing someone so close, and pretty much still in the tailspin of mourning.
For what would be nearly two years of working daily on the radio project, i haven't had to take the time to consider much beyond what the station projects require; I've been able to immerse myself fully into all of this, and not have to take the time to think about what had just happened in my life.
I had fully intended writing something other than this tonight.. but once i began writing, these are the words that came to the surface instead of the others.
So, i guess that there's a bit of trepidation on my part, now that i think about it. With the closing of a great addition to the Groove Zone portfolio comes the realization that in a very short time, i will once again be in that place without an immediate goal, and will have plenty of time to go back to and enjoy a less-hectic schedule.
As mentioned elsewhere in the website, two of Neo RetroFM's shows will continue to be produced, for the time being anyways. Viewers will still have access to both "The Sessions w/ DJ D-Phoenix" and "Hook, Line & Thinker: Pillow Tok" on a monthly basis.
I'm not sad that the station will be ending soon, as too many great things have come of it; i will only be sad to not have the opportunity to continue to play new music to a world of music fans.
Stay tuned, though, because you never know what the future holds in store."
